Live event map with user reports and confirmations — for safety, awareness, and connection.

Context
Loqal is a cross-platform mobile app that allows users to anonymously report a wide range of events — from potentially dangerous situations to general crowd gatherings or parties — helping the community stay informed about what's happening nearby in real time. The app aims to improve urban awareness and shared safety by offering a dynamic, user-driven map. Reports can be filtered by category and time, and are displayed based on the user's location. Loqal is perfect for those looking to avoid risky or overcrowded areas, or simply stay up to date with the local pulse of their city.

Project Ideation
Loqal was born from the need to provide a simple and anonymous tool to share real-time information about events and public situations, enhancing both safety and community awareness.
App Architecture and Design
A scalable infrastructure was designed, including geolocation systems, push notifications, content filtering, and anonymous report management — all while ensuring performance and user privacy.

App Development
The app was built using cross-platform technologies (Flutter) to deliver a consistent experience on both Android and iOS. Key features include an interactive map, quick reporting interface, and a local events feed.
Testing and Launch
Loqal was rigorously tested for stability, geolocation accuracy, interface usability, and secure anonymous reporting. The app was launched after multiple iterations based on real user feedback.
